Ruben Amorim sent a strong message to the players of Milan after the 2:0 defeat to Ferencvaros in the Europa League. “We have to improve or it’s all over.”
Just days after taking a completely different approach to beat Inter 3-1 in the Derby della Madonnina, the coach was stunned by his team’s performance at the San Siro.
They failed to hit the target in the first half and conceded a Lenny Joseph goal to create several other big scoring opportunities for the Hungarian side.
Amorim is angry with Mila’s attitude

After his harsh words in an interview with Sky Sport Italia after the game, Amorim went further in his press conference and warned that his entire tenure would be cut short.
“I’m just saying what I saw because you’re not stupid and I don’t want to fool anyone,” he said.
“I have every reason to defend the team, so when I speak like this, I take responsibility first because the team is my responsibility.
“But we can’t do that, especially in the first half, in front of our fans, at home, we can’t do that.
“We have to improve or it’s all over.”

Amorim has already said that it is clear that Milan are “not ready to be competitive” every three days as they have lost three of their first four Europa League games and risk an early exit.
“That’s my feeling, but I’m not the one saying it. The facts prove it. And today’s game was proof of that, we’re not mentally ready. The technical side has nothing to do with it. The rotation has nothing to do with it. You can’t tell me the starting lineup wasn’t up to the task of winning the game.
“We gave ourselves all the chances we had, especially at the start. I remember certain reactions when we lost the ball: the reactions we saw three days ago were not at all the same and we had to rest for four days.”
