Liam Rosenior has responded to some of the criticism he has received during his tenure as Chelsea manager
Former Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has spoken about the criticism he received after his relationship with Alejandro Garnacho during his time at the club. The former Blues manager also announced his departure from Stamford Bridge in April.
Rosenior has been in charge at Chelsea for just over three months and was replaced by Xabi Alonso, who took over as the Blues’ new manager in the summer.
The former Chelsea boss has won 11 of his 23 matches, but a run of seven defeats in eight games, including a Champions League exit, led to Rosenior’s sacking.
During the Champions League second-leg loss to Paris Saint-Germain, Rosenior came under fire for passing an instructional note to substitute Garnacho. Chelsea were 3-0 down on the night, 8-2 on aggregate at the time of the substitution, and Rosenior has now hit back at the criticism he has received.

“It was the best experience of my life, but also the hardest. Even though it only lasted four months, it was fantastic,” Rosenior told So Foot when asked about his time at Chelsea.
“I don’t want to go into details now; I will talk about it one day, when the time comes. But what happened in a country where tolerance is an important value has nothing to do with football.”
When questioned further about his departure, Rosenior continued, “Actually, the moment that bothered me the most was when we went on that five-game winning streak.
“Any club would be happy with a run like that, but not Chelsea. You get good results and you’re in the limelight. Then there was a kind of snowball effect in the media.
“They mocked the instructions I gave Garnacho on a piece of paper when we went down to 10 against PSG.
“My clothes are a joke, and so is the way I talk. I’m not a joke! You’re the first people I’ve told about this, and probably the last for a long time, but one day I’ll tell you what really happened.”
After leaving Chelsea, Rosenior returned to France to take charge of French Ligue 1 club Paris FC, currently leading the team to fourth in the table, three points behind leaders PSG.
