Check out Arsenal transfer targets
agent Gabriel Martinelli Arsenal have clarified that they are not forcing the Brazilian to leave the club during the summer transfer window.
Martinelli left the Gunners for Al Hilal earlier this month after the Saudi professional league giants agreed to pay £60m for the 25-year-old.
Initial claims suggested Martinelli was forced to leave the club, with his teammates unhappy with the Gunners’ handling of the matter.
However, Martinelli’s representative Marcos Casebu clarified that his client is open to a new challenge and the Gunners feel the same way.
He added that the winger had offers from Italy, Germany and the option of staying in the Premier League, but has chosen to take on a new challenge in Asia.
“We feel it’s time for him to leave, and Arsenal feel the same way,” Kaseb said. “It’s a very good departure for Martinelli and Arsenal.”
“He had offers from Italian and German clubs and other clubs in the Premier League, but moved to Al Hilal, the biggest club in Asia, to be part of a very ambitious project.”
Martinelli has been a specialist left-winger throughout his Arsenal career but has only played on the right wing at Al Hilal so far.
The attacker has made a strong start to the season, scoring three goals in four games and has proven to be an excellent signing for the Saudi giants.
