A really interesting article in the Daily Mail today looks at Chelsea’s continued interest in Alex Scott.

We all hear that the Blues will make another bid for the midfielder in January, but our attempts to bring him back in the summer are also under discussion.

The Blues have made three bids for the 23-year-old, with the highest bid being £68million. It was never going to do the job – they want £100m.

Bournemouth are still hoping to convince Scott to stay

Bournemouth owner Bill Foley was on TalkSport today, where he not only denied that Scott had been sold, but also claimed that he and his team are still trying to sign the midfielder to a new deal:

“We would like Alex to stay here and sign a new contract and be part of this team for the long term and we are still working on that. We have not given up,” he said.

They probably know it’s not realistic to keep the star around forever, but they can certainly lock him into a new contract with a release clause that helps maximize the money they get when he’s traded.

In other news…

Mike Penders is set to make his first Premier League start for Chelsea – you’d worry he’s nervous, but he doesn’t look it.

Estevao has a bright future, everyone can see it. There is less certainty about where he will spend it.

Josh Acheampong was excellent against Everton and now is the time to sign him to a new contract.
