1. Inter Milan(–)
The Nerazzurri were already considered favorites to retain the Serie A title and they further cemented themselves as title contenders with another impressive comeback after a 2-2 draw with Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.
2. Rome(–)
Meanwhile, Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma once again proved themselves to be a formidable team, scoring two goals in the opening 45 minutes before conceding two more to Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez to truly challenge the defending Serie A champions. Clearly, Roma is heading in the right direction.

AC Milan and Christian Pulisic are back. The American striker scored the first goal of the game as the Rossoneri beat Lecce 3-0 at San Siro on Sunday. Pulisic made his first start for AC Milan this season, signaling his return after missing the opening weeks of the 2026 World Cup with a minor injury. Ruben Amorim seems to be getting more confident now.

The defeat against Frosinone showed how Champions League participation can affect their Serie A performance. Before the break, Fabregas had lost his first game of the season with three wins and one draw in his first four games in Serie A. It’s not easy to perform at your best every week and that’s something they should learn in the future.
5. Lazio (+1)
The most surprising team of the season so far. Rino Gattuso’s side were level with Roma and Inter Milan in the lead at the break. This impressive start comes despite a challenging summer transfer window and difficult relationships with the club’s supporters. The club has been boycotting home games amid an ongoing dispute with owner Claudio Lotito.
6. Naples(-1)
Head coach Massimiliano Allegri You should be a little worried now After struggling to start the season. Napoli have picked up just seven points from five games, their worst start to the season in the past seven years. The Azzurri need a result after the break or the pressure on the coach will be even greater.
7. Juventus(+1)
Luciano Spalletti’s Juventus need to beat NEC in their Europa League opener and face Atalanta at the weekend as there are already some rumors about possible managerial changes. Now, they have more time to reflect on what worked and what went wrong. To be sure, injuries haven’t helped.
8. Atlanta(-1)
Maurizio Sarri needs more time to integrate his principles and ideas into this team as we haven’t really seen progress so far since he became Atalanta’s new coach. Will the club give him more time? They should.
9.Cagliari(+1)
Another win, this time away to Udinese. Fabio Pisacane has been in incredible form for Cagliari, thanks in part to the likes of Daniel Maldini and Alessandro Romano, who have been called up by Roberto Mancini for the Italian national team for the upcoming Nations League campaign.
10. Udinese(-1)
I had high hopes for Udinese this season, but they seem to lack consistency again, but they are a team that has the potential to compete for a European spot.
11. Florence (+1)
Everything has changed since Paolo Vanoli took over at Fiorentina. Within a week, the Viola defeated Venezia, eliminated Pisa from the Coppa Italia and drew 1-1 with Napoli at the Stadio Franchi in Florence. That’s exactly why they shouldn’t part ways with Vanori in the summer. Finally, they were forced to return to him, which they did on time.

Rafael Palladino replaces Domenico Tedesco, who was sacked by the club earlier this week. The former Fiorentina and Atalanta coach will now have time to work on tactics and learn more about his squad.

Two wins, one draw and two losses is what we can expect from Alberto Aquilani’s Sassuolo. There are some interesting players on the team and the coach is considered one of the most talented coaches in the league.
15. Turin(+1)
There may be too many changes in the summer to be accomplished in a short period of time, which is why the international break could be a crucial time for both the team and coach Ignazio Abate.
16. Genoa(-2)
De Rossi’s position is not under immediate threat, but the team will need to get better results after the break. One draw and four losses in the first five games, this is certainly not the start we expected.
17. Parma (+1)
A first win of the season against Genoa was just what they needed before the break. Carlos Cuesta’s future was in jeopardy before the game but he is now expected to remain in charge.
18. Lecce(-1)
It won’t be an easy season for Eusebio Di Francesco and Lecce, with the team likely to fight until the end of the season to avoid relegation.
19. Monza(–)
Ivan Juric won his first game in charge at Monza at the weekend with a 2-1 victory over Sassuolo in what might be considered the turning point of their season.
20. Venice(–)
Five games, five losses. Scored 4 goals and conceded 13 goals. These numbers are definitely not enough to survive.
